I spent February 24-27th in Orlando Florida at an SAP conference. The conference was held at the Disney Dolphin hotel which is where I stayed.
Monday evening after the conference sessions, Don picked me up and drove me around Orlando. He has been in Orlando for a few months for his company. The speaking event his team is organizing was scheduled for the 27th so it was very cool that he found time to visit with me. We found a sushi place in downtown Orlando. I must say that Don's new job is really agreeing with him. He looks better than he has in a very long time.
Tuesday evening Sue and I went to Epcot Center. This was my first time at any Disney location, so it is pretty exciting. Too bad Tuesday was the only day available for me to go because soon after future world, and a short tour of a couple of countries, it started to pour while we were in "China". Sue and I ran to the Chinese fast food place to get plastic rain ponchos for the low low price of $7. The good news is that Disney did not disappoint, at least when they provide buckets of rain, it is accompanied by a light and sound show. It was relatively warm so we continued our tour around the world.
As we walked by people going the other direction, we often told people that "Be careful in Germany, it is raining really hard there." We also said this for other locations we visited along the way. I must say that it was briefly dry in Italy when we were there.
After we arrived back at the hotel, we found out that there were tornado warnings in Florida and that the partial power outage our hotel experienced earlier in the day was part of a larger power outage that swept Florida that day.
