Hair fiasco

Well, I guess it could have turned out worse. I guess....

Last night I decided to dye my hair. I wanted it to be a few shades darker than my normal hair so I bought the hair dye I had used before that turned my hair pretty dark a definite brown color. Being summertime I get that this is not the normal direction. Normally in the summer one goes lighter not darker but when have I ever been in sync with the style trends anyway?

So after mowing the lawn and cleaning out the gutters using my neighbor's ladder since they were out of town, I decided to color my hair. I pulled out the timer so I was sure to leave the hair dye in only for the amount specified on the instructions. Just so you know, I ALWAYS follow the instructions on hair dye as I am terrified of a mistake with hair.

Did I mention that I followed the instructions and even used a timer?

My hair is now about 1 to 1.5 shades lighter than when I started. In fact, it is lighter on the top and steadily gets darker as it moves down the hair strand. It almost looks like I went out and played in the sun and my hair got sun bleached a bit. Now my hair is a kind of light honey brown and doesn't look un-natural at all. I should be thankful, I need to be thankful, be thankful, be thankful, be thankful.

I really wanted darker hair! Not lighter! I don't look good with light hair! How am I going to find a new boyfriend if I don't look good? :)

Ok, be thankful my hair did not burn off, be thankful my hair is not orange, be thankful that no one will notices that I messed up my hair, be thankful that my hair isn't totally like straw, just be thankful Paula!
