Today I went to check out Pine State Biscuits as directed by my friend Steve who lives in Michigan. The place is extremely small and has only 3 tables and a small counter to sit at. Most people wait in line and take the food to go. In total, we waited for about an hour (in line then getting the food). This seems to be expected by everyone so I had high hopes for the quality of the food which I was not disappointed.
Since I didn't want to miss out on anything, I ordered 3 different dishes. I ordered The Reggie (Biscuit, fried chicken, bacon, cheese topped with gravy), Biscuits & Gravy (sausage), and Hash Ups (golden hash browns with chopped country ham, grilled onions, mushrooms and melted cheese). The portions are good and any one of these could be a meal if you aren't over doing it that is.
I sampled each one and found the Reggie's chicken had a wonderful spicy kick to it. If I were to bring someone to Pine State Biscuits I would have them try the Reggie first. The other dishes were also good but the Reggie simply sets this place apart.
Overall, this place gets a thumbs up.
