Jane Update

This evening Debbie, Shelby and I went to visit Jane at OHSU since she was supposed to be moved out of ICU and allowed some visitors. Her brother is in town and will be staying for a week or so.

Here are the basics:
  • Jane looks great.
  • She should not be expected back to work until sometime in the new year.
  • The doctors expect a 4-6 month recovery time.
  • Her family is working out the details of what care will be required and how to proceed with that. At this time they are not ready to provide further information for what is needed but they will be in contact with Debbie, Mary, Shelby and Paula when they are ready to rally the troops.
  • She is experiencing some paralysis on her right side.
  • She is hanging tough and already started some physical therapy.
  • She is not expected to be released from the hospital for another few days.
The quote of the evening was, "It's my stroke and I will F&%)ing do what I want to!"

For more information about strokes here are a couple of websites you can check out.
