Daddy's Girl

She is a daddy's girl who has never really had a daddy. She is all grown up now. I thought I was a daddy's girl but compared to her I find it hard to claim so. Where as I really wanted a dad, she needed a dad in ways I was able to compensate for. The more I look over her life I see the "little" things a dad can provide, I see where she became lost without them.

She would be a different woman now, if she had a dad who loved her. I am sure of that now. Many things would have been easier. Thank goodness she has always had a resilient spirit or she would not have become the incredible person she is. A lesser woman would not have achieved all that she has and had as bright a future as she.

How do you measure an achievement where you do not have what you need to thrive yet you do? Not just what you want to thrive, what you need to thrive?
